Please note there is a $25 registration fee that goes towards the $50 fundraising minimum to plunge. All participants must meet the $50 requirement to plunge.

What is it?  
The Polar Plunge is one of Special Olympics Louisiana’s largest fundraisers all year! With the help of our Law Enforcement Torch Run comrades this event is attracting hundreds of people to an otherwise deserted waterhole in the winter season. Individuals from all walks of life have committed to raise $50 and bear it all for thousands of Special Olympics Louisiana athletes! So sign up today to get a thrill from the chill and join us for our largest plunge yet!

So, who can participate?
Individuals and teams from businesses and organizations, alongside our athletes and thousands of community members, experience heartwarming and bone chilling extremes as they take the plunge into the icy cold water! (Plungers under the age 14 must have a parent/guardian with them.)

Too chicken to plunge?
Come watch! If taking an icy dip isn’t for you, then come be a fan of fun! You can donate to a plunger or team or just be a part of the fun as you watch folks run, plunge and freeze for a great cause! The Polar Plunge is open to the public and also features musical entertainment, food, costumes, vendor displays, children’s activities and more. (There is no fee to view the event.)

Sponsorship Opportunities
We offer two different ways for companies to become a sponsor at various levels. Companies and individuals can sponsor Polar Plunge as Monetary or In-Kind Sponsors. Our packages all come with great perks and range from $5,000-$500.

Incentives
This year incentives will be given out a first come first serve basis. On the day of the event, March 11, 2017 the amount a participant has raised at the time of check-in is the amount that will go towards which incentives a plunger will receive. Any money turned in after a participant has checked-in on the event day will not be counted towards what incentives a plunger has earned. Any items a participant has earned, but does not receive on the event day will be ordered and mailed to the plunger’s team captain along with any other team members items that may not have been received (unless you are an individual plunger, then it will be mailed directly to you). In the past incentives have taken longer than expected to reach each participant that didn’t get their items day of. We are hoping that by cutting off fundraising at the close of the event day instead of extending it for a month after the event like we have in the past, this will help to get incentives shipped out sooner to all of our dedicating and deserving plungers!

Incentive Levels:    

$50: T-shirt

$250: T-shirt + towel

$500: T-shirt + towel + jacket!
