Special Olympics Louisiana understands the importance of protecting your personal information, and we have created this Privacy Policy to inform you of how we will use your personal information and how you can communicate with us about your preferences.

BY ACCESSING AND/OR USING THE WEBSITE, YOU HAVE AGREED TO 1) abide by the practices described in this Privacy Policy, as may be amended from time to time, and 2) the transfer, processing and maintenance of your personal and sensitive information in the United States of America.

THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT: Depending on the type of communication or transaction, the personal information we collect may include, but is not limited to, your name, postal address, ZIP code, telephone number, organization name, e-mail address, credit card or billing information.

WHERE AND WHEN WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION: You will be asked to provide your personal information when making donations, registering on certain pages of the site, requesting communications from Special Olympics Louisiana, participating in the social networking aspects of the site and/or in other ways as will be described in this Privacy Policy.  In addition, we may also collect other technical information such as, the type of browser you are using (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer), the type of operating system you are using (e.g., Windows XP or Mac OS), CPU type (e.g. Pentium), your manner of connecting to the Internet (e.g., connection speed through narrowband or broadband access); Internet protocol address; other information about your geographic location; and the domain name of your Internet service provider.

INFORMATION SECURITY: Special Olympics Louisiana and the DonorDrive platform have established safeguards to help protect your personal information. Credit card information is not stored within the site. However, we cannot guarantee that your personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy (for example, as a result of unauthorized acts by third parties that violate applicable law). To protect your privacy, Special Olympics Louisiana and the DonorDrive platform uses passwords to help verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to any of your personal information.   All on-line transactions are done on a secure server. This means that information entered on the transaction page is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) before transmission. On secure pages, a "closed" lock symbol is displayed in your browser screen and the website address in the address bar at the top of the browser screen starts with an "https" instead of an "http".

REFUND POLICY: If you made an online donation you are entitled to a full refund up to 120 days after the credit card transaction was made. If a refund is needed, the donor may request a full or partial refund. Refunds will only be credited back to the account used to make the original purchase.

USE OF COOKIES: A "cookie" is a small piece of data that is sent to your browser and is stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are used to collect non-identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behavior or user preferences for a specific website. You can manually delete all cookies including persistent ones within your browser privacy settings menu.

CHANGES TO PRIVACY PRACTICES: From time to time, Special Olympics Louisiana and the DonorDrive platform may revise its privacy practices to address changing technology, security measures and website functionality. We strive to provide you with timely notice of these changes. Please contact us if you have any questions about changes to our practices.
